AMMAN — The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has said that it will take “full responsibility” for a fire that erupted at a bicycle shop while a GAM taskforce removed a “violating” awning belonging to the shop, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.
GAM pointed out that it will not hesitate to take legal action in the event of a proven fault by its staff while removing the canopy or neglect of public safety procedures, adding that it will also commit to compensation depending on the result of the investigation.
