AMMAN — The government’s fuel pricing committee on Sunday decided to raise the prices of gasoline, kerosene and diesel, and to maintain the price of gas cylinders for the month of June.

The price of one litre of unleaded 90-octane gasoline will go up from JD0.55 in May to JD0.6 in June, according to an Energy Ministry statement.

The price per litre of unleaded 95-octane gasoline will also increase to JD0.82 from JD0.765 in May, while the prices of diesel and kerosene will increase to JD0.410 per litre each in June compared with JD0.395 per litre in May.

The price of gas cylinders will remain at JD7, the statement said.

Prices of oil derivatives in the local market are calculated based on international prices, in addition to other costs, including shipping and taxes.

The committee said that it referred to international oil prices, which showed that the cost of a barrel of crude Brent oil in April stood at $19.2, compared with $29 in May.

The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission on Sunday also decided to maintain the “differences in fuel prices” category on monthly electricity bills for June at zero, according to a commission statement.
