AMMAN — Minister of Health Firas Al Hawari on Thursday met his Syrian counterpart Hassan Al Ghabash, exploring avenues of health cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.

During the discussions, on the sidelines of the Arab Health Ministers' Council meeting and the 76th session of the World Health Assembly in Geneva, various topics related to technical collaboration, exchange of expertise, training and the pharmaceutical industry were deliberated upon.

Ghabash lauded the cooperative efforts between the two countries, highlighting Jordan's assistance after the earthquake that struck Syria in February 2023.

Hawari also held separate meetings with Iraqi Minister of Health Saleh Al Hasnawi and Algerian Minister of Health Abdelhak Saihi.

During these discussions, they discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation, including the exchange of expertise in the fields of food and medicine, the promotion of medical tourism, and reciprocal visits to monitor the progress of Iraqi and Algerian patients receiving treatment in Jordan.
