Healthcare council announces 2013 objectives

AMMAN — The Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) on Wednesday launched its objectives for next year, which include improving pain management and the protection of hospital staff.
The council will hold workshops and training sessions for healthcare workers to ensure they are aware of the objectives and best international practices in the field.
HCAC Executive Director Salma Jaouni said the council will work towards reducing assaults against medical personnel, noting that 29 hospital staff members were attacked in 2012.
Southern Shuneh Hospital was the first public hospital to receive accreditation from the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) since the council’s establishment in 2007, sector officials announced on Monday.
Six public hospitals received accreditation from the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) for adopting and implementing the council’s goals for the year 2011, a health official announced Thursday.
In order to improve medical services and ensure patient safety, the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) was officially launched on Wednesday.
