AMMAN — Over 10,000 individuals involved in the healthcare sector have pledged over the past two months to provide services that will contribute to improving health services, as part of the Change Day initiative, according to the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC).

The Change Day initiative, implemented by the HCAC under the patronage of HRH Princess Muna, seeks to improve the quality of healthcare services by encouraging personal commitments that can improve patients’ experiences.

Princess Muna herself personally pledged to further support nursing and healthcare.

“I pledge to lead by example to continue supporting quality nursing and healthcare locally, within the region and globally,” she pledged, according to an HCAC statement sent to The Jordan Times.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Ali Hiasat pledged to “call for a special meeting with directors of hospitals and health departments to highlight the importance of elevating the level of health services to preserve the patients’ health”.

Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, radiation technicians and administrators took part in the campaign and will follow through on their pledges on Wednesday.
