Heirs of deceased who attempted to rescue drowning child to receive pension

AMMAN — The Social Security Corporation (SSC) on Tuesday decided to consider Ausayd Louzi’s death as work-related, as he drowned in a 5-metre deep manhole in the capital’s Khribet Al Souq neighbourhood, in November, while was trying to rescue a 14-year-old girl who fell into it.
The manhole is located opposite the stationary shop where he was working, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. SSC Spokesperson Musa Sbeihi said that the death pensions would be disbursed to Louzi’s heirs, covering 75 per cent of his salary, adding that the SSC would also pay the funeral expenses.
