Hiasat discusses pandemic response procedures with US official

AMMAN — Health Minister Ali Hiasat on Tuesday met with Judith G. Garber, US assistant secretary of state for oceans, international environmental and scientific affairs, and discussed procedures to deal with emergencies, pandemics and non-communicable diseases.
Garber highlighted the importance of coordination to support a project on air pollution and germ resistance to antibiotics which will be discussed at the 68th conference of the World Health Assembly in May.
Hiasat thanked the US for supporting Jordan’s health, especially in terms of dealing with the effects of the refugee influx and the sudden increase in population.
