AMMAN — A group of Rum Village residents on Sunday ended a sit-in organised in front of Parliament after meeting Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh.

During the meeting, Tarawneh promised to follow up on their demands with the government and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).

He phoned ASEZA Chief Commissioner Kamel Mahadin who arranged to meet the group on Monday to find suitable solutions to their demands, which included organising operations at Rum Visitor Centre, restoring Rum Castle and conducting maintenance on the southern village’s infrastructure, among others.
