AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Monday stressed the significance of the intellectual war in the fight against terrorism.

Speaking at a meeting with a visiting Italian parliamentary delegation, Tarawneh said the international community must share the responsibility of supporting Jordan, as it is representing the entire world in hosting refugees, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The delegation, headed by vice president of the Italian senate Linda Lanzillotta, is in the Kingdom to participate in the “Women in Parliaments Global Summit 2016”, which will begin in Amman on Wednesday. The Jordanian-Italian Parliamentary Friendship Association and the House’s Foreign Affairs Committee also met with the delegation.
