International scholarship providers’ meetings conclude

AMMAN — A group of international scholarship providers have concluded their 2017 meetings titled “Education in an unstable world, response, adaptation, development” on Thursday which was organised and hosted by the Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development (QRF), the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The meetings, which lasted for three days, were attended by representatives of 26 group member institutions and 18 organisations working for education in Jordan including UNRWA, the Planning and International Cooperation Ministry and Questscope.

The meetings were held at the Children’s Museum Jordan and at the Queen Rania Teacher Academy, and included discussions about present global instability related to issues of wars, disasters and famines.

QRF CEO Haifa Al Attia said that Jordan hosts the largest number of refugees in the world where Syrian refugees constitute about 13 per cent of the population. She also pointed out that Jordan has successfully enrolled 120,000 Syrian students in public schools.
