Investigation launched into donation fraud

AMMAN — The Ministry of Social Development is investigating 12 charity organisations for collecting donations in violation of regulations.

The ministry’s spokesperson, Fawaz Ratrout, said several charity societies, two zakat committees and a private institution that sells donation cards were under investigation for violations, noting that they did not apply to the ministry for permission to collect donations.
