Investigations into death of child waiting for ambulance are under way, Razzaz says

AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Omar Razzaz on Saturday commented on a video that has been circulated on social media showing a child who died at a checkpoint during the total lockdown on Friday as her father was waiting for a Civil Defence Department vehicle to take her to hospital.

Razzaz took to Twitter to say: “The scene of the deceased child and her bereaved father is heart-wrenching. May God grant him and her bereaved mother patience and solace.”

The premier continued: “Investigation into the circumstances of the child’s death is currently under way. The results will be disclosed and measures will be taken in accordance with the law against those responsible, in the case that negligence has taken place.”
