AMMAN — Iraqi Trade Minister Salman Jumaili on Friday called for the reopening the Turaibil border crossing between Jordan and Iraq, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Jumaili said Iraq needs to reopen the crossing with Jordan to reactivate mutual trade and land transportation.
He added that Turaibil is the “most important” border crossing for Iraq as it connects to many other countries. Last week, Iraq reopened the Arar crossing with Saudi Arabia after a 27-year closure. Turaibil was closed in 2014 after Daesh seized control of the western part of Iraq.
