AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Thursday celebrated the launch of the historical encyclopedia of the armed forces titled “A History of Heroism and Sacrifices”.

During a ceremony held in the conference room of the JAF, State Minister for Media Affairs Faisal Shboul said that the release of the historical encyclopedia of the JAF would provide “a solid basis for the emergence of cultural, artistic and media works”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The encyclopedia included various pivotal axes, notably the sacrifices of the JAF in Palestine, especially in Jerusalem, as well as the distinctive humanitarian role of the Arab army in peacekeeping missions and operating field hospitals in a number of brotherly and friendly countries, in addition to the army’s national development role.

Director of the Moral Guidance Department Brig. Gen. Talal Al Ghabein said that the encyclopedia also included the names of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.

It also highlighted the JAF’s regional and international role.

The ceremony was attended by a number of JAF officers and media representatives.
