AMMAN — Jordan Armaments and Weapons Systems (JAWS), affiliated with the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB) and American company, Colt's Manufacturing, of the design, development and manufacture of light weapons on Wednesday signed a memo of understanding. JODDB has also signed a MoU with the Saudi Military Uniforms and Accessories Company Ltd.

of the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), meant to accredit the Centre as an official body to test the factory's products, including helmets, jackets and bulletproof vests.

Signed on the sidelines of the Aqaba-held Special Operations Forces Equipment Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX 2022), the partnership with Colt would play a key role in the efforts of JODDB  to  develop a sustainable and self-sufficient defence industry in the Kingdom by supporting the localisation of defence product manufacturing, Rateb Abu Al Ragheb, Sales Manager and Business Strategist at JODDB, said.

Abu Al Ragheb said that the MoU with the Saudi side stipulates that the Centre will ensure that the products conform to the inspection standards, thereby giving the factory greater opportunities to market its products.

The JODDB Test and Evaluation Centre conducts tests for wheeled and tracked vehicles according to international Standards.
