AMMAN — The Awqaf Department of Jerusalem has warned against “blatant attacks” by a group of ultra-Jewish extremists against the female guards of Al Aqsa Mosque while performing their duties, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Thursday.
It also warned against circulating “fragmental” videos by media outlets, which adopt narratives of Jewish extremists.
A statement issued by the Jerusalem Awqaf Department on Thursday referred to a particular video which it said showed Jerusalem Awqaf Director Azzam Khatib ushering female gaurds out of harm’s way, which was posted and circulated by ultra-extremists on social media aiming at “distorting facts and inciting against the department”.
The Awqaf Department of Jerusalem said it intents to preserve the safety of all employees of the department, especially the female guards of Al Aqsa Mosque.
