Jordan, Albania set to take ties to new level

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday stressed Jordan's interest in strengthening its cooperation with Albania in various fields. 

During a meeting with Albania's Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati, the King underlined the importance of building on the outcome of his visit to Tirana in May this year and his discussions with Albania's President Bujar Nishani and senior Albanian officials, in a manner that strengthens relations between the two countries. 

The two sides stressed the need to expand bilateral cooperation and to benefit from the opportunities available in the two countries to boost economic cooperation and trade exchange, especially in light of the various incentives that Jordan offers to businessmen and the country's distinguished geographic location. 

At the regional level, the two sides discussed ways to deal with the crises that some countries are going through, especially the crisis in Syria and the situation in Iraq and Libya, calling for political and comprehensive solutions that guarantee peace and stability in the region. 

At the meeting, the two sides reviewed efforts exerted to confront terrorism and radicalism, asserting the need for dealing with this danger in accordance with a comprehensive joint strategy. 

Bushati, who conveyed greetings from Albania’s President Bujar Nishani to the King, stressed his country’s commitment to boosting its relations and maintaining coordination and consultations with Jordan regarding various issues.

He expressed Albania’s appreciation of the role of His Majesty in strengthening the Jordanian-Albanian relations, and commended the King’s prudence in dealing with various regional and global issues.

Also on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh met with his visiting Albanian counterpart and discussed ways to boost cooperation between the two countries. 

Judeh and Bushati underscored the importance of developing cooperation in economic, tourist and cultural areas, especially many Islamic and Christian religious sites are in Jordan.  

 

Moreover, Senate President Abdur-Ra’uf S. Rawabdeh met with Bushati and stressed the Kingdom’s commitment to boosting its cooperation with Albania, especially in parliamentary fields.
