AMMAN — A Romanian delegation, headed by Romanian Agency for Nuclear Energy and Radioactive Waste Chairperson Alice-Mariana Dima, visited the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC) on Tuesday.

The visit aimed to activate bilateral cooperation in developing the peaceful use of nuclear energy under a cooperation agreement signed in 2011.

JAEC Chairman Khaled Toukan acquainted the delegates with the completed phases in the Jordanian nuclear programme.

Discussions focused on increasing cooperation between JAEC and Romanian institutions, in addition to the potential of benefiting from Romania’s experience in power grids, research reactors and extracting and mining uranium.
