‘Jordan to support Palestine in joining Open Government Initiative’

AMMAN — Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Imad Fakhoury on Monday briefed Palestinian Personnel Council President Moussa Abu Zaid and an accompanying delegation on Jordan’s experience in joining the Open Government Initiative.
The multinational initiative aims to secure commitments of participating governments to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption and harness technology to enhance governance, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Fakhoury stressed that Jordan will offer its expertise and capabilities to enable and support Palestine in joining the initiative.
He also said that joining the global initiative is a testament to Jordan’s capabilities to adopt best international practices in transparency and good governance. Abu Zaid said the delegation will visit the ministries of planning and international cooperation, justice, and public sector development to benefit from their achievements.
