AMMAN — Jordan and Sweden on Thursday discussed bilateral relations and efforts to combat extremism and terrorism.

At a meeting in Amman, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh and Swedish Minister for Justice and Migration Morgan Johansson discussed the Syrian refugee issue and challenges facing both countries in terms of hosting refugees.

Johansson expressed his appreciation for Jordan’s role in securing the release of two Swedish hostages from Al Nusra Front in Syria in April. Justice Minister Bassam Talhouni also met with Johansson and discussed means to develop joint projects in legal and judicial fields.

Johansson commended Jordan’s support for Syrian refugees, citing the education services offered at Azraq Refugee Camp.
