Jordan TV to provide free platform for parliamentary candidates

AMMAN — Jordan Television (JTV) on Monday announced that it will give candidates in the January 23 parliamentary elections a chance to appear on air to explain their campaign platforms.
Jordan Radio and Television Corporation Director General Ramadan Rawashdeh said the candidates will have the chance to appear on TV for free.
Each candidate will have one minute to talk about his or her platform.
Jordan Television (JTV) on Saturday announced that it will give candidates at greater municipalities in the August 27 municipal elections a chance to appear on air to explain their campaign programmes.
All candidates in the upcoming parliamentary elections will have the chance to appear on Jordan Television (JTV) to explain their platforms, a senior official said on Wednesday.
Opposition groups have criticised Jordan Television (JTV) for pulling an episode of a news programme on Friday that was to feature youth and labour activists, while the government stressed that the segment has only been “postponed”.
