Jordan Valley pigeon hunting season to start on July 1

AMMAN — The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) on Thursday decided to open a pigeon hunting season in the Jordan Valley, running from July 1 until the end of November, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The licensed hunter will be allowed to hunt 20 wild pigeons of various types during each hunt, except for the turtledove, which has been listed as an endangered bird by the RSCN in response to international organisations’ requests to stop hunting the birds, Petra reported.
