AMMAN — HRH Princess Muna, president of the Jordanian Nursing Council (JNC), has received the reaccreditation certificate for the JNC as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Centre’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation for the years 2017-2021, according to a statement from the council on Tuesday.
The JNC has been granted the accreditation for the first time since 2009, the statement said, adding that the certificate aims to recognise excellence in organisations for providing continuing nursing education.
ANCC evaluates and validates the organisations’ capacity to provide continuing nursing education through the availability of human resources, sources and the capacity to design, implement and evaluate the training activities, the statement read.
Muntaha Gharibeh, the JNC secretary general, noted that the council started the reaccreditation preparation by the end of 2016 till the middle of this year and the JNC has “successfully” met all the criteria.
By this achievement, the JNC is demonstrating “high quality continuing education to nurses that will enhance the nursing profession, and improve the nursing practice, thus improving the quality of patient outcome”, concluded the statement.
