Judeh calls for UN support in Syrian refugee crisis

AMMAN — Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Thursday met with the director of UNDP’s Arab States bureau, Sima Bahous, and discussed the UN’s development projects. Judeh reiterated the necessity to support Jordan in performing its humanitarian duty in serving the “Syrian brethren” by hosting over 200,000 refugees. Bahous commended Jordan’s efforts in hosting the rising number of Syrian refugees.
Planning Minister Imad Fakhoury on Tuesday received Sima Bahous, UN assistant secretary general, assistant administrator and director of the UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Arab States.
Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Thursday met with Sima Bahous, director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States, and discussed bilateral cooperation.
