Judeh discusses Mideast, Syria with US officials

WASHINGTON — Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Friday concluded a visit to Washington, DC, during which he held talks with several US officials.

Judeh met with US Secretary of State John Kerry, US National Security Adviser Thomas Donilon, Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns and Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Thomas Nides.

Alongside regional developments, talks focused on means to boost bilateral relations and the resumption of the long-stalled Middle East peace negotiations.

Judeh and the US officials reviewed the latest developments regarding the Syrian issue, stressing the need for a political solution that ends the conflict and safeguards the country’s unity, safety and security.
