Khalazeh meets British ambassador

AMMAN — Head of the Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee MP Raed Khazaleh on Wednesday highlighted the role of the Hashemite custodianship in safeguarding Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.

During a meeting with British Ambassador to Jordan Edward Oakden, in the presence of panel members, Khazaleh stressed that the Kingdom will not compromise its historical stance towards the Palestinian issue, which was enshrined in all international agreements and conventions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Committee members called on Oakden to find means to boost the UK’s support to the Kingdom in its endeavours to achieve comprehensive peace in the region.

For his part, Oakden stressed the UK’s commitment to presenting all forms of support to Jordan, especially in the political, economic and social sectors.
