RAMALLAH – His Majesty King Abdullah arrived in Ramallah on Thursday on a short visit for talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, a Royal Court statement said.

The statement said the talks will focus on efforts to revive the Middle East peace process with the aim of arriving at the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The visit, the first by an Arab leader since the Palestinians gained upgraded UN status, is part of continuous coordination between Jordan and the Palestinian authority, according to the statement.
