King Abdullah visits Palestine

RAMALLAH – His Majesty King Abdullah arrived in Ramallah on Thursday on a short visit for talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, a Royal Court statement said.
The statement said the talks will focus on efforts to revive the Middle East peace process with the aim of arriving at the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The visit, the first by an Arab leader since the Palestinians gained upgraded UN status, is part of continuous coordination between Jordan and the Palestinian authority, according to the statement.
His Majesty King Abdullah will pay a visit to Ramallah today during which he will hold talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday received a phone call from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, during which the Monarch was briefed on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories, a Royal Court statement said.
His Majesty King Abdullah and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday renewed their commitment to continued coordination over regional developments and issues of mutual concern, particularly the peace process.
