AMMAN — The Korea International Cooperation Agency’s (KOICA) Alumni Association of Jordan has recently held a stress management workshop at Queen Rania Hospital in Petra for 25 underprivileged women.

The workshop, for women aged 20-40 years old, consisted of a lecture on how to manage stress and a handicrafts session. During the workshop, the association also donated five wheelchairs and one blood pressure monitor to Queen Rania Hospital as appreciation for the hospital's efforts in providing quality health services to the citizens of Petra, according to a KOICA statement.

Director of the Queen Rania Hospital Mohammed Nawafala expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the support and South Korea’s interest in aiding the health sector in Jordan.

The alumni association was established in 2008 with Jordanian government officials who had previously participated in KOICA-sponsored training programmes. The association aims to disseminate their knowledge and skills, and 850 government officials have taken part in KOICA’s fellowship training programmes so far, according to the statement.

South Korea provides $10 million in aid every year to Jordan through KOICA, and the support takes the form of projects in various sectors, training programmes and volunteer programmes in an effort to provide comprehensive support for the socioeconomic development of Jordan, the statement added.
