Kurdi trial continues

AMMAN — The Amman Criminal Court on Thursday listened to new prosecution witnesses who were summoned to give their testimonies in cases of alleged corruption filed against Walid Kurdi, former chairman of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC).
The court questioned the witnesses regarding shipping charges and services, as Kurdi is a suspect in a case involving marketing and shipping deals the JPMC signed with foreign firms.
The Anti-Corruption Commission prosecutors recently indicted Kurdi with 10 counts of “abuse of office” during his service as head of the firm in 2008-2011.
