AMMAN — Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan Aziz Daihani lauded the Jordanian government's facilitation of the return of Kuwaiti students to their country following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During a ceremony held by the Kuwaiti embassy on Sunday, Daihani stated that Jordan's facilitation of evacuation procedures reflects its “commitment to boosting the strong relations and cooperation between the two countries”.

The ceremony was held to honour diplomats, embassy staff and the technical offices operating at the embassy for the efforts they have exerted throughout the pandemic and their “active contribution” to the success of the evacuation plan for Kuwaiti citizens.

Kuwait evacuated nearly 30,000 citizens from various countries around the world, including 3,000 from Jordan, the ambassador added.
