Labour Ministry considering new measures for working Syrians

By Petra - Aug 02,2014 - Last updated at Aug 02,2014

AMMAN — The Labour Ministry is considering applying punishment procedures to any Syrian refugee who works for a local institution without a permit, the ministry’s secretary general, Hamadah Abu Nijmeh, said Saturday.

He said the legal article which allows for the repatriation of guest workers who violate labour laws does not apply in this case under the circumstances in Syria.

Instead, the ministry is studying to send any Syrian worker found to be in violation of the law back to a refugee camp.
