MADRID — Jordan’s Ambassador to Spain Ghassan Majali on Tuesday presented his credentials to Spain’s King Juan Carlos.
During a meeting after the ceremony, Majali conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Abdullah to the king and people of Spain.

He also lauded King Abdullah’s efforts to establish peace and stability at international and regional levels.
Spain’s future King Felipe VI, a tall, blue-eyed former Olympic yachtsman, ascends the throne Thursday rising in popularity despite scandals that battered the reputation of his father and elder sister.
His Majesty King Abdullah on Friday sent a cable of condolence to King of Spain Juan Carlos, in which he expressed his deepest sympathies over the train derailment accident in north-western Spain, which resulted in at least 80 deaths.
From folk in the street to politicians and sportsmen, Spaniards all want their new king to do something for the country. They just can’t agree on where he should start.
