Major dams currently hold 55 million cubic metres

AMMAN — The Kingdom’s dams currently hold 17 per cent of their total capacity, or 55 million cubic metres, according to the Jordan Valley Authority Secretary General Saad Abu Hammour.
The Kingdom’s 10 major dams now hold 51 per cent of their total capacity of 325 million cubic metres (mcm), a government official said on Sunday.
The country’s dams currently hold 21 per cent of their total capacity, after recent rainfall channelled around half-a-million cubic metres of water, a government official said on Sunday.
More than 23 million cubic metres (mcm) of water were channelled into the country’s major dams over the past three days, filling three reservoirs to capacity, a government official said on Saturday.
