Man dies in Zarqa carpet shop fire

AMMAN — An Arab national on Saturday died after a fire erupted in a carpet shop in Zarqa, according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD).
A PSD spokesperson said that Zarqa Civil Defence Department (CDD) personnel, with the support of adjacent CDD branches, rushed to stop the fire that erupted in the three-floor building, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The spokesperson said that paramedics evacuated the deceased man to the Zarqa Public Hospital.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
