IRBID — A man in his twenties was killed at dawn on Sunday in clashes caused by protests over water shortages in the Beit Ras area in northern Irbid.
The man was stabbed by one of the protesters when he asked to remove obstacles blocking his way home.
The body was sent to the forensic unit and the perpetrator was arrested.
Protesters were blocking the road linking Irbid to Bani Kinanah villages, accusing the Yarmouk Water Company of “turning its back on their plight”.
Security personnel managed to open the road and spoke to the protesters, with plans to address the company’s administration to resolve the dispute.
