AMMAN — Factories at the El Hassan Industrial Estate in Irbid will be able to enact strategies to lower energy costs, foster public and private investment in clean energy technologies, and create a new market for Jordanian energy companies and service providers, under a deal signed Thursday.

The USAID Jordan Competitiveness Programme, Irbid Chamber of Industry and Jordan Industrial Estates Co.

signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU), supporting the expansion of the clean energy sector in northern Jordan, a USAID statement said.
