Mobile Children’s Museum will visit Irbid, Jerash for upcoming tour

AMMAN — The Mobile Children's Museum will start its second tour soon, heading to the governorates of Irbid and Jerash, between September 18 and December 11, according to a statement released by the organisation. 

The museum will visit seven different locations in the two governorates to offer children an experience similar to the one offered at the Children's Museum in Amman the statement said, adding that the museum embarks on two main tours to governorates during the school year and is open to families and schools free of charge.

The mobile museum will offer interactive educational exhibits at every stop, along with educational discovery stations covering a variety of subjects in: science, art, literature, technology, astronomy, drama, energy and more. 

In partnership with the European Union Delegation in Jordan, two new mini exhibits on energy are also being launched with the tour. The exhibits were developed specifically to raise awareness on rational energy use the statement said. 

Omar Abu Eid, the energy, environment and climate change performance manager of the EU Delegation said in the statement: "We are delighted to continue our partnership with the Children's Museum Jordan to support our goal in Jordan, which is to raise awareness on renewable sources of energy and establish and implement the principles of energy efficiency. The museum, through its innovative and interactive endeavours, can convey these positive messages to children and their families in all governorates of Jordan through its mobile museum."

Director of the Children's Museum Jordan Sawsan Dalaq added: "As a national educational institution, we are aware of our responsibility to raise awareness among children and their families and support Jordan's goal of reducing its dependence on energy imports by developing Jordan's capacity to generate renewable energy and rationalising energy consumption. Through our efforts, and with the support of our partners, we hope to prepare a generation of thinkers capable of providing innovative solutions in this field."

According to The Children’s Museum statement, the museum is a non-profit educational institution launched by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdallah in 2007. Since its opening, it has received more than 2.5 million visitors.
