Nasser signs Karak dam agreement

AMMAN — Water Minister Hazem Nasser and Jordan Equipment Company General Manager Khalil Haddadin on Saturday signed an agreement to build the 2-million-cubic metre Karak Dam.
Nasser said the JD11-million project will be funded by the US and Gulf Cooperation Council grants.
On Friday, the minister visited the Sultani Pumping Station and the Lajoun Station in Karak.
Nasser said the ministry is building a new 2,000-cubic-metre reservoir at the Sultani Station and installing new pipes.
Renovation of the Lajoun Station included installing a new 22-kilometre pipe.
