AMMAN — The Ministry of Health on Monday announced that those wishing to advance the date of the second dose of the COVID vaccine for the purpose of travel should visit Prince Hamzah Hospital, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The ministry added, in a statement, that those intending to receive the second dose need to pay attention to the necessary period between the date of the first dose and the second dose for each type of COVID vaccine.

It also explained that requests submitted by people over the age of 18 will not be accepted unless 21 days have passed from the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, and 42 days have passed since the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, for the purposes of air travel.

As for the documents required, it is necessary to bring a duly confirmed and paid travel ticket, a financial receipt attached or an electronic confirmation number for tickets purchased online, visa, residency permit, exit and return stamp for the traveller by land or sea.

The ministry indicated that university students who wish to receive the first dose of the vaccine for the purposes of travel, who are under the age of 18 and over 17, must submit an application at Prince Hamzah Hospital with the necessary supporting documents including letter of acceptance, and paid travel ticket along with the receipt and an approval by the Secretary General for Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases Affairs through the Communicable Diseases Directorate.
