AMMAN - Officials on Saturday asserted that no tourists were attacked in Petra.
Several media outlets said that a tourist coach was under fire in Petra, 250 south of Amman.
Petra Chief Commissioner Sulaiman Farajat told The Jordan Times that the bus belongs to tourists guides and does not carry tourists.
Farajat said that it was a stray stone probably thrown by a child and there was no shooting.
Those media outlets have circulated unverified news and investigations are currently ongoing, he added.
