AMMAN — The Higher Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities (HCD) on Wednesday provided universities in the northern region with sign language interpreters to facilitate education for students with hearing disabilities.

Director of the HCD’s liaison office in the northern region Muhtaseb Bani Ali said the office has also signed agreements with 26 societies and special education centres to train and rehabilitate 603 students with disabilities.

He said 241 students with disabilities from the northern district had received university scholarships from HCD President HRH Prince Raad.
