AMMAN — The Lower House Palestine Committee, chaired by MP Yahya Saud, commended the government's decision to reduce the issuance and renewal fees of the Jerusalemites' passports to JD50 instead of JD200.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the committee praised the decision, which is part of His Majesty King Abdullah's initiatives to ease the burden on the Jerusalemites and support their steadfastness.
Meanwhile, Jerusalem's religious leaders also voiced their appreciations of the Royal Makruma to reduce the issuance and renewal fees, stressing that Jordanian passports are the only communication link between the holy city and the rest of the world.
Jerusalem's religious leaders added that this Makruma will end the occupation's quest to impose Israeli passports coupled with the Israeli nationality on the people of the city, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
