Operation Smile conducts free medical campaign

AMMAN — Operation Smile Jordan (OSJ) recently conducted a free medical campaign at Prince Hussein Hospital in Ain Al Basha.
During the campaign, OSJ provided medical treatment to children from Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Pakistan suffering from congenital malformations and burns.
OSJ medical teams performed around 80 surgeries during the campaign.
Doctors at of the Jordan Field Hospital “Gaza 33” on Monday succeeded in performing a complex surgical procedure on a five-year-old child to correct a congenital malformation in his tongue.
Over the last decade, the National Goodwill Campaign has changed the lives of thousands of residents of the Kingdom’s remote and underprivileged areas, most of whom used to suffer from serious impairments that hindered them from leading normal lives.
Doctors have performed cochlear implant surgeries on 22 children with hearing difficulties at Al Hussein Medical Centre under the Hearing Without Borders initiative, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported Tuesday.
