PM visits Independent Election Commission

AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Thursday stressed the government’s full support to the Independent Election Commission (IEC) to ensure a fair and transparent parliamentary elections called for by His Majesty King Abdullah.
During a visit to the commission, in the presence of a number of ministers, Khasawneh also said that the government places all its capabilities “at the disposal of the IEC” to render elections a success until the completion of the voting process, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
IEC Chief Commissioner Khalid Kalaldeh reviewed the preparations made by the commission to conduct the elections slated for November 10, noting that the campaigning phase has already started and candidates have shown commitment to the special regulations put in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
