AMMAN — A suspect at the Juwaideh police station on Monday night reportedly committed suicide using a piece of clothing, a security source said on Tuesday.
The source added that there was an attempt to hospitalise the inmate, but he soon died, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. A forensic doctor, Amman prosecutor general and the police prosecutor general were called in to begin investigating the incident, the source said.
Police personnel arrested the suspect on Monday, after complaints from shopkeepers that he threatened them with a sharp tool and threatened to set their shops on fire, according to the source.
