Power supply to six municipalities cut over unpaid bills

AMMAN — The Irbid District Electricity Company (IDECO) on Monday cut power supply to six municipalities in the Northern Badia District over unpaid bills, which collectively amount to JD426,000.
IDECO Spokesperson Hashem Hijazin said the power was not cut abruptly, noting that the municipalities were notified beforehand.
He said IDECO owes the National Electricity Company JD12 million every month and needs to collect the unpaid dues to fulfil its financial obligations.
The Irbid District Electricity Company (IDECO) on Monday cut the power supply to the Irbid Health Department and the First Irbid Education Directorate due to unpaid bills.
