Prince Feisal receives US Jewish groups

AMMAN — HRH Prince Feisal, the Regent, on Thursday received a delegation representing Jewish groups, from the United States currently in the Kingdom as part of a regional tour, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

During a meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace, Prince Feisal reviewed Jordan's positions under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, including the efforts exerted in dealing with various crises in the region and reaching political solutions to restore security and stability.

They also discussed regional and international efforts in combating extremism and terrorism which threaten global peace and security.

Talks covered efforts aimed at achieving a just and all-inclusive peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis based on the two-state solution and the resolutions of international legitimacy, which will lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, living in peace and security alongside Israel.

Prince Feisal stressed that the issue of Jerusalem must be settled within the framework of a holistic and long-term solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. 

He pointed out that Jordan and the Hashemites will continue their historical role in safeguarding Jerusalem's Muslim and Christian holy sites.

Prince Feisal underlined UNRWA's pivotal role in providing basic services to Palestinian refugees, noting the relief agency's need for constant support to be able to carry out its humanitarian responsibilities.

 

For their part, the delegation members praised Jordan's role in dealing with various regional issues, and its efforts to achieve peace and enhance security and stability both regionally and globally.
