AMMAN — HRH Prince Hassan on Thursday visited the Reconstructive Surgery Hospital in Amman, run by Doctors Without Borders, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

During the visit, Prince Hassan was briefed on the facility’s achievements in providing war victims with medical treatment and psychological support to war victims, the news agency said.

The prince met with a number of doctors and officials at the hospital and stressed on the importance of psychological support, especially for children who are victims of war.

He underlined the need for coordination between all national and international efforts, through strategies to support the war victims psychologically, socially and legally.

The doctors and Prince Hassan reviewed the partnerships between the hospital and Jordanian universities; the Hashemite University and the University of Jordan, to train students in physiotherapy, psychological support and other fields of war victim treatment.

Since launching in 2006, the hospital has managed a number of projects, including the comprehensive orthopaedic surgery for victims of conflicts in the region, from Yemen, Iraq, Syria and the Gaza Strip.

Numerous surgical operations were carried out by the hospital’s medical staff, as well as physiotherapy, psychosocial care, providing food and accommodation.
