Princess Dina awarded honourary doctorate by Armenian university

AMMAN — HH Princess Dina Mired, the president-elect of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), has been awarded an honourary doctorate by Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) in Armenia in recognition of her global and regional efforts in the fight against cancer. 

Princess Dina expressed her appreciation for the honour, coming from a prestigious medical university, according to a statement from the princess office on Tuesday.

She was awarded the honourary doctorate during the Cancer Survivor Congress, organised by the YSMU and the Armenian Association of Haematology and Oncology, where she delivered the keynote speech.

In her speech, Princess Dina reiterated the need for cooperation in the fight against cancer, stressing that the UICC is always ready to offer the support needed. The UICC is the largest global organisation solely dedicated to combating cancer. It includes over 1,000 organisations from 160 countries.
