AMMAN — Deputising for HRH Prince Hassan, HRH Princess Rahma, in the presence of HH Princess Majda, inaugurated on Saturday the fourth international conference on inclusive and holistic societal development, organised by the Hussein Foundation in Amman with the participation of a number of rehabilitation-specialised organisations.
Participants in the two-day conference will discuss a number of issues related to societal rehabilitation and the relevant national recommendations in comparison with the international standards, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Opening the conference, Princess Rahma explained that more humanitarian initiatives are needed to ensure the welfare of societies, with the increasing wars and natural disasters and the decreasing spending on basic needs.
Executive director of the Hussein Foundation, Annie-Abbey Hanna, said that the priority of the conference is to build effective societal rehabilitation strategies, adding that the foundation's programmes serve a total of 5000 people.
Working papers on the Ministry of Social Development's services to people with disabilities and strategies for societal rehabilitation in Gaza, among others, will be discussed during the conference.
